AA 3 class 777 (77W) only flies to Hong Kong in Asia. Both AA DFW-NRT and ORD-NRT are on 772/788, which doesn’t have first class. JL operates 77W with first class between JFK-HND/NRT and ORD-NRT.
1st.... thanks for all your replies / advice. Since you are correct, JAL does operate thees flights with 1st from JFK-(HND/NRT: AA 8402 / AA 8495) and ORD (NRT: AA 8404)..... QUESTION: are the Biz seats...... JAL J "Sky Suites ... OR.... AA Super diamond?

AND.... Is it possible to upgrade (Biz to First) using AA miles / copay... on these JAL operated flights?
