The upside to flying Delta, United, or American over AS is also much more options during IRROPs. They interline and can route you through a different hub if issues occur. B6 is also based out of NYC so it shouldn't be too hard to find another flight on them. AS needs to send a plane from either LAX, SFO, PDX, or SEA, so you could be waiting a few days.
Alaska has interline agreements too so you wouldn't be stranded for days waiting for a plane. Any IRROPs I've had with Alaska have been handled very well.
