But note that most carriers, certainly including Alaska, now offer free streaming video to personal phones and tablets, which to me essentially eliminates the need for seat-back monitors.
The upside to flying Delta, United, or American over AS is also much more options during IRROPs. They interline and can route you through a different hub if issues occur. B6 is also based out of NYC so it shouldn't be too hard to find another flight on them. AS needs to send a plane from either LAX, SFO, PDX, or SEA, so you could be waiting a few days.
