I'm assuming DL only has ERs and LRs, not the base/original 777-200.
Presumably different take-off weights also, but that's probably less important than range.
Thats correct. ER ( extended range ) is the improved base model with a longer range. The LR ( long range ) version has an additional fuel tank installed and hence an bigger MTOW.
