thanks. I wavered back and forth. Ultimately I can take 15 or so Uber rides for the cost of a rental car. So that's the way I am currently leaning. I picked an Airbnb in Barton which is a relatively short walk to the attractions around Parliament hill and that side of the lake. And for things like the national museum I can either take a bus or Uber. In reality I have just 3 full days plus one morning and one evening so I think I will find plenty to occupy my time in the city.

I did call Chase about whether my Sapphire Reserve card would cover the Excess for an Australian car rental and they tell me it would.
