I use a "call centre" type headset when working on laptop/at docking station, and Apple earpods if I'm using phone to join when out and about. The headset scores higher on comfort and ease of use, but if I want to carry the things I need the risk is it will get bashed up while in my bag.

I'm wondering if there's a good middle ground people use, that has some of the comfort of the headset but is a bit more portable? Any suggestions?
I always like to carry a Jabra 510 speakerphone... which would not work for you. The reason I mention it is a "mute" button is top of my personal priority list. If I'm traveling light, I end up just using my old wired iphone earphones, or airpods via bluetooth connection to my computer.
