Most Park Hyatts will do SOMETHING to welcome a guest but this one isn't like most Park Hyatts. I'm no slouch with trying to get better service or things fixed but this place was like an immovable object. Friends have told me not to expect much in NYC and that was true here. I could have escalated things but they didn't offer more than a premium suite upgrade on our next stay (yeah, right PHNY). I just felt it wasn't worth getting into it with corporate.
I’ve definitely been there! (StR Dubai, Halekulani, The Liberty, and FS Lanai pre-reno, I’m looking at you.) Sometimes, you just know it isn’t worth it...and that it’s just better to never return. ‘Nuff said.
It couldn't have been more different than the Chatwal. The staff there seemed genuinely interested in helping you with doormen attentive and courteous.
I LOVE the Chatwal! Definitely my favorite NYC hotel thus far. But I’m betraying my fave to finally try out the StR in March. Will be holding them to the same high standards, so I expect a lot.
