Closure of the Hertz Hub to UK - No Warning
I have had an email today from Hertz and it read
Over the past 12 months, UK participation in the Hertz Hub has continued to decline. With our recent transition of the Hertz Hub to a new platform, we have had a much lower than anticipated number of UK members return and log-in to the Hub. Unfortunately, we cannot support ongoing research and community efforts with such a small member base; therefore, the Hertz Hub will no longer be supported in the UK. Your UK Hertz Hub account will be deactivated effective January 30th, 2018.
We appreciate your past participation in the Hertz Hub. You have provided us with insightful feedback and opinions, and we thank you.
Hertz have already blocked access to the hub, no doubt to prevent any negative coverage about this move on the site. I am not surprised that UK participation was in decline. I cannot think of a single thing that has changed at Hertz since the Hub was introduced and the feedback on comments has generally been of a very low grade.
They have provided some points, the equivalent of a days rental in the UK, so not all was lost.
I think it is a rather shabby way to deal with customers.
