For YYZ-MAD, I'd book the older 767 over a connection on a newer plane without a second's hesitation. There's not that much difference between the planes, and it's an overnight flight so you are probably going to just eat and sleep.

Returning, book a connection to avoid Rouge. You can try out a newer plane then.
