Update: I sent an email directly to the property. They stated that they would be happy to give me the 1/2 off rate on the second room, but that the rate I had reserved was not eligible - it was only applicable to the "best available rate" (which we all know is a pseudonym for "too high of a rate"). That said, when I add the cost of the full room and the 1/2 off room, it is still less than paying the lower rate twice, so I did have them change the rate and apply the discount to the second room.
