Flying to Tokyo on a paid Business class ticket (from Miami). If I take a 777 or 788 (from ORD / DFW) or 788 (from Bos) , it's in Business with no upgrade possibility (SWU) because there is no First. However if I opt for the 777 (from JFK or ORD) .... there is a chance to upgrade to First (SWU).

Question ....If I opted for a flight with FIRST, and do not get upgraded, how would you compare Business class on a 3 class plane (777) ....versus the Business class on a 2 class plane (777 or 788). Which business seat is preferred......Business class on a 3 class plane (777) ....or....on a 2 class plane (777 or 788)?

I know I have gotten info from this Board, recently regarding this question..... but I am still trying to sort this all out. I also realize that some of these flights are operated by JAL, so I do not know how that comes into play.
