I don't think it is a sense of entitlement at all, in fact many people have stated they are willing to pay for something that was previously free. What people are objecting to is paying at times twice the fare and in return getting a chance for an upgrade into a level of service that has been gutted in comparison to what was offered just two years ago. That's not entitlement, that's sound financial judgement on the part of the customers.
