I just wanted those who might be taking a much longer ride or evena short one its best to use any cab that has a sign on its roof that says 'metered taxi' Grabs cabs didnt have that language but something else.
Grabs cabsdidnt have that language but something else.
I confess to not being able to follow and fully understand all your difficulties, but every taxi has a sign on the top which says "Taxi Meter" (AllThaiTaxi has a variation). All taxis which participate with Grab are metered taxis (exclusive of grabcar, which are not so identified on the exterior). There are no GrabTaxis per se, just standard metered taxis with some GrabTaxi logos, typically on the side/rear-windows.
IMO, you should try the GrabTaxi app at least once, but you will have to pay 25 baht extra.
It would be ideal if you could report all your negative taxi experiences to the authorities: there are mobile apps, and web-based apps which facilitate this reporting. Obviously reporting these taxis drivers is probably the only way to improve services.
