DL is focused on treating the most profitable customers well. I frequently buy H or higher tickets and don't come to complain when, during a a busy workday flight, I end up in a main cabin seat in the back half of the plane.
Also, sometimes when I get upgraded, I realize my ticket last-minute may have been quite a bit more than any advance purchase. Even in F.
Point being - everyone in F is there for a reason, and no one is "better" or "more deserved" than any other pax. Period.
I also doubt in-flight has same access to DL details as someone sitting at a desktop using DeltaNet.
