Children aged 12yrs or under stay free in room with parents or grandparents; Second room for children charged at 50% of first room. Half-price room for children may not apply on select promo rates.

After a google search turned up this:
Finding accommodations for big families in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa can be challenging. Luckily, Hilton has 38 properties with family plans which allow you to book a second room at 50% off. The family plan in most cases can not be used in conjunction with other specials or sales.

Note that you’ll have to make reservations for 2 rooms and contact the hotel to confirm the 50% off as there isn’t a special code for their family policy.

I called the diamond desk who suggested that I make the reservation and then touch base directly with the property's reservation department during the week.

Has anyone had success using the family plan? Are there better options?

Thank you all,

To answer your first question. I’ve successfully used the family plan at Hilton properties in London, Frankfurt, Bangkok, and various cities in the US. As stated, availability is property dependent, and different properties interpret it differently. I’ve been able to get a 50% discount on the second room off of an already-discounted (ie. not rack rate) first room cost in all of the places mentioned above. I’ve also had other properties in Europe tell me that they would only discount full rack rate (or in the case of one property- the full priced breakfast package rate, even though I get free breakfast via status). In the former cases I got a great deal; in the latter it was often cheaper or the same to book 2 discounted rooms. I usually book the cheapest refundable rate and then call the property directly and ask if they’ll give me a second room at the half rate. They’ll then tell you what (if anything) they’ll do price-wise.
