If there are 3 seats open in Main Cabin or Main Cabin Extra, and you are the top three pax on the standby list - you'll get the seats. If not - well, you won't. Ability to move into open seats once the door is closed has nothing to do with that.

I think he is saying if people in Y are fighting over MCE, then the fighting could cause a delay that could cause him to miss his connection.
