I can’t speculate about GRU but GIG has capacity to spare and then some in its new terminal which is very nice. Given that most tourists would prefer to fly direct to Rio I think that would be the biggest benefactor of open skies. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a lot of northeastern airports get brand new service of routes to the US. The new super efficient 737 max with its small capacity and long range can really make once unthinkable routes profitable just like the 787. Think natal to New Orleans or something crazy like that. At any rate, combined with the new visa program, I think Brazil really headed in the right direction tourism-wise. Safety obviously still a major concern...
