The Sheraton is a large corporate property - reminiscient (for me) of the Sheraton in downtown Seattle. Like its US counterpart, there are two towers. However, the SPG lounge is now on the 5th floor - where there is a bridge between the two towers. (In Seattle, you need to go all the way down to the lobby and walk between the two towers). Located centrally, in the heart of all the action.
The Meridien, on the other hand, is beside the river, away from the CBD, with stunning views. Uber modern look and feel. The lounge is on the 22nd floor, and offers Plats afternoon tea from 3-5 in addition to breakfast (06:30 - 10:30) and hors d'ouevres (17:30 - 19:30). The pool is on the 9th and its Infinity style. I would say the fitness areas have very similar offerings - although the Meridien is (obviously) newer.
For points stay, its advantage Meriden (7,000 per night, versus 10,000 @ Sheraton). But the revenue rates vary tremendously. Sometimes the Sheraton can be less expensive!
