So many missed opportunities
I flew QR's A359's for the first time now. Tears nearly came to my eyes, when I compared them to AY's 359. Yes, those (AY) could also have the same (similar) interior, same seats (!), same ambience.
I don't know how it's in the back of the bus, how those compare, but the front on QR sadly runs circles around the AY hard product. I don't even bring up the soft product in this thread.
I know that AY doesn't do benchmarking to competitors (they said so) but they really, really should. I did TXL-SIN which is of course also AY's important route (EU-Asia) and after this, I have to say I'd see little reason to fly via HEL if I were Günther Berliner*. Both legs on widebodies (777 & 359) Also the price was very user friendly - 1,5k€ in C.
* a bit shorter, 1,5+11 hrs vs 6+8 hrs. The lounge experience is also, hmm different.
