The King David Hotel was built by the Mosseri family of Egypt who owned the Shepherds Hotel in Cairo (completely destroyed in the Revolution of 1952), Mena House, Cataract in Aswan and others.

My grandmother stayed here in 1939 and saw Haile Salassie and King Farouk.

It has an interesting history.
