Either I missed it earlier, or it was changed since - it's "Bengaluru", not "Bangaluru" in the title.
I've always had a driver in India. Unless you're really adventurous, I'd avoid pubic transportation, and 1.7mi is too far to walk twice a day, IMHO. Uber didn't exist last I was there. Others can comment on whether that's an option, or you may want to give up brand loyalty if something is closer.
