Geneal rule of thumb is on 747/777 is two crew per side one on each trolley.
  • 747 (Super Hi-J) one crew member starts at the front of WTP and the other at the back of WT and they work to meet.
  • 747 (Mid-J) WTP its one crew member for the whole cabin so they start on the left hand side, work to the back of the cabin then take the trolley to the right hand side and work from the front of the cabin to the back. (For the 2nd service they may do this in reverse ie work right hand side first then left if people didn't get their first choice meal however the offical way of doing it is the same as the first service). In WT one crew member starts at the front and the other at the back and they work to meet.
  • 777-200 one crew member starts at the front of WTP and the other at the back of WT and they work to meet.
  • 777-300 one crew member starts in WTP then works toward the back of the cabin whilst the other crew member starts at the back of the WT cabin in front of Doors 4 and works to meet the crew member working their way down from WTP. Once WTP and the front cabin of WT are served one crew member starts at the front of the 2nd WT cabin, the other at the rear of the cabin and they work to meet.
On the 787 its slightly different.
  • It's two crew each side however we work two crew on one trolley or double ending as its called. Starting in WTP then into WT working all the way down to the rear of the aircraft The reason its done like this on the 787 is due to the weight of the trolley. These are new and lighter so more prone to toppling over.
A small note about the above, this will change with the roll out of the New Club Service as on some aircraft, one of the crew working in WT works in both CW and WT depending on loads and stage of service.
