If so, and the experience of
wrp96 is common, it would make for an interesting class-action suit under the Air Carrier Access Act. 'We can't get wheelchairs here fast enough' , or 'Wheelchairs can't get between gates fast enough' is not going to be a successful defense.
Airlines are required to provide assistance with boarding, deplaning and making connections.
