Why? For most people, I don't see a big difference between a credit card guarantee or a refundable charge. But I travel to Vegas quite a bit where this is definitely the norm, so maybe I'm just used to it.I've never had any problem getting the deposit refunded when I need to cancel. I can see that some people may not like the idea but it would certainly not deter me from booking a hotel that I want to stay at.
