As I can see, there are not many folks on FT who have used both the Hyatt Concierge and the Starwood Ambassador regularly yet, and that can provide an enlightening comparison. Personally my first experience with Hyatt Concierge is disappointing. She is very slow in answering my e-mails. Sometimes my requests or questions are not time-sensitive, so that is fine. However if I ask for a Globalist Suite Upgrade Award and it takes more than 7 days to answer, then I wonder what is the point of using the Concierge? Using the Globalist e-mail got me a quicker turnaround before. What if the suite becomes unavailable from the time I ask and the time she tries to use the suite upgrade award?
This is in sharp contrast with my Starwood Ambassador who is on top of things and usually keeps me updated within 24 hours of progress regarding my questions or requests. Perhaps part of it is that I have been with her for longer so we have gotten to know each other better, but still, I cannot imagine that she would take more than one week to apply a suite upgrade for a new SPG member assigned to her.
Time will tell if my experience with the Hyatt Concierge will improve, not only in terms of timeliness, but also in terms of the scope of what she can help with.
