Just made a cancellable (i.e. not prepay) reservation at a Hilton property. Information said I could cancel up to (was it 48) or it 48 hours, (not germane in this case) prior to reservation date at no cost. However on the charge card that was used for the reservation I was already charged 1/4 of the total cost. So it appears that reservations are not free anymore? Is this now normal policy at Hilton and associate hotels?
