I didn't push back too hard as I figured that I could check a bag in, go airside, have the flight cancelled and then wait to get my bag back, and THEN have to drive, and I figured just biting the bullet and getting going was the best way to get there. Had I known the journey would be so hampered by snow, I may have done differently.
In that case, you got screwed. Whether or not you had a checked bag is irrelevant. Definitely worthy of a complaint, IMHO.
