The MH/BA connection is doable if your bag is checked through to KEF. But i would be nervous and probably wouldn't. If a single ticket is not possible, have you thought of doing BA from SIN or KUL, buying a separate ticket for CGK to KUL or SIN? The reason I ask is that it would make a much better connection at LHR, you'd fly into T5. CGK flights to KUL or SIN are much more frequent and it would be easier to make the transfer at that end.
Thanks for your response! Yes, it is doable under a single ticket, so I suppose it might be worth the gamble.
Buying a ticket to SIN or KUL is extra expense and I would need to schedule a long layover in SIN or KUL to be safe so I would rather not go that route. Moreover, BA imposes fuel surcharge on AA award... by then it would be cheaper for me to just outright buy a one-way ticket from CGK-LHR (~$350) + LHR-KEF ($100)
