Confusion with Asia Miles and Marco Polo Club
Hi Forum,
I'm currently a Kris Flyer member, but am thinking to start flying on CX metal as I will be spending more time using Hong Kong as a base.
I have some questions for current Marco Polo club members:
1. I have an Asia Miles number, but have never accumulated any points to this program. I have the option to transfer my card miles to Asia Miles, so wanted to clarify the HKD100 fee to join the Marco Polo program. Once I pay this fee, does MP automatically link to my Asia Miles and I can then accumulate each time I fly with CX and redeem points that I transfer in to Asia Miles?
2. Award flight availability. KF can be a bit hit or miss if flying to popular destinations with less than three flights per day. I have been using business class to overcome this as Saver seats are very hard to book thesedays. I understand CX is having significant financial problems right now and would be very interested in cash flow rather than reducing points liabilities. Wanted to ask the forum your thoughts on the stability or the MP program in terms of miles value and ability to use miles?
Many thanks!
