then yes.

they got it down to a science.

they will have one person in their travel party hang on to bags in a far corner while one checks in and gets the bpasses, so check in staff dont see the kitchen sink.

​​​​​​ while they are doing that the rest will ve busy stuffing the pockets full and wearing many clothes to increase carry payload. what you are wearing you are not carrying after all.

its gotten to the point where i have seen FAs just give up and stuff as much as they can under seats.

seen this in taiwan, vietnam, thailand, manila.

on one recent flight from MNL the airline just proactively gate intercepted bags of anyone who were willing to part with their things for the duration of the flight and checked the bags for free as they knew there was no way for all those bags AND duty free security bags would fit in the cabin.

one time i heard a member of the cabin crew say out loud, not to anyone in particular, "summer vacation po, bakasyon, hindi lipat bahay" ([plane rides are] for summer vacations , just vacations, not for moving house)
