I am trying to cancel my Gold Amex Card account 1 day before the fee actually hits the account. The question is if the date I applied and was approved for the card initially was on Jan 24, 2017 (there was no annual fee for the first year), will the fee apply to my account on Jan 22, 2018, Jan 23, 2018, Jan 24, 2018, or the date of my next statement closing on Feb 6, 2018.

Again, the question is, based on the above example, when would the annual renewal fee hit my account? (I do understand that I can cancel my card within X days of the fee hitting the account BUT that is not my question)
