Welcome to FT! The thing about the challenge, as you probably know, is that you can't do it very often. It's a good way to get status early if your flying pattern changes so that you will be able to maintain it or to regain it if you have an off year.

Yeah, I understand it only lasting until the end of the year. I’m hoping to achieve gold / platinum through travel for next year. It all depends very much on what projects I get allocated to.
i only did it, as I knew I had 10 flights coming up in January, so seemed to make sense
I’ve just moved to the US from the U.K., and wasn’t doing much as much travel in the U.K. / Europe, and it was all budget airlines for business and pleasure. There just isnt the same budget offering over here.
