I spoke with representatives of both Chase and Marriott Rewards and they have zilch by way of additional information.
This isn't the way to treat customers you'd like to continue to be loyal to you.
Although Marriott might have been able to handle it better, I will put most of the blame on Chase on this one. Chase has two offerings in Canada, the other one being the Amazon.ca visa card. Same announcement was made for that card. In essence, this is much more about Chase leaving Canada and terminating their agreement with their partners than anything else
