A year or two ago I downgraded my citi Aadvantage platinum card to Bronze when the annual fee came. up. I probably should have kept open and paid the annual fee due to the 10% points redeposit, it would have more than paid for it for me at least, maybe not other family members. Water under the bridge now.

So at this point I'd like to wait to reapply and get the sign up bonus. I know that you can't have opened or closed a platinum account within 2 years to be eligible for the bonus. I don't trust what the agents say so wanted to pose the question here.

If we've had the Bronze version then after downgrading from the platinum has the clock been running since the downgrade for the 24 months? Can anyone confirm if reapplied for Citi Plat Aadvantage and got the bonus even with the bronze card still being open?
