I'll certainly curtail. There's a big difference, imo, between those in the back visiting those in the front and families all sitting up front chatting occasionally on a long haul. If stopping at a seat for 2 minutes to "check in" with a teenager is going to annoy another passenger, I don't care. That's entitlement, and he/she can deal with it (I don't do this during typical sleep times, mind you...generally around meal services or when the bulk of the cabin is awake). What I won't do is make this a constant. The third or fourth time during a flight woud be rightfully annoying, and I'll stop.
Also, there are never seattmates. It's almost always either 777-300, 772, or 767. They're either in their own pod or next to another family member.
