Kimpton Aertson Hotel (Nashville, TN)Kimpton Aertson Hotel (Nashville, TN)
What is your Priority Club status? Spire Inner Circle
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Yes
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? King Deluxe / King Deluxe (IC Feee Night) Upgraded to King Skyline (no suites available for that weekend).
How are the rooms? Good amount of space. Great design. Nice view toward downtown but I don't think the hotel rooms in the building are high enough to see much of the actual "Skyline" of downtown.
[If you are Spire]
How was your complimentary welcome amenity? Spot on. My preferences are pretty basic, so that helps. I list plain M&Ms, pretzels and local craft beer. I got all of them. The beer was from Mantra in Franklin, TN, which I had never actually heard of before. It was a fine beer, not fantastic, but I keep my preference vague so I hopefully get random beers I wouldn't usually try, just like this. Side note... I was quite impressed with the Nashville beer scene. Yazoo, Jackalope and Little Harpeth were some of my favorites.
Did you raid the minibar? If so, what did you take? Yes - Bottle of red wine.
Were you offered a Chef's Taste at Dinner, If so, what did you receive? No. I've actually never attempted this benefit. I wish it was a little easier to use and didn't require announcing my status to a restaurant server.
Did you use the free spa credit / did the hotel participate? If so, was it a good value? No / Hotel does offer spa services.
What was good and what was bad?
Good - Friendly staff, walking distance of Hattie B's (hot fried chicken) and lots of decent food options. Lots of good wine hour options (wine, a local beer and even a bourbon option). Strolling Vanderbilt campus was enjoyable (very pretty). 100% agree with FlyinHawaiian about the location above, but I think it's a positive for others. While we enjoyed a couple hours there on Sunday afternoon, we had no desire to stay near lower Broad due to LV strip, Bourbon St-like feel. We went to the gulch as well (Nashville boot, a couple breweries, Third Man records) and after we walked past a methadone clinic and the rescue mission, we were glad we didn't stay down there either. I really thought Midtown was a great way to be NEAR the places you want to visit in Nashville, but not right in the middle of it.
Bad - We really enjoyed our stay and while we weren't blown away, I'm not sure I have anything negative.
Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return? Moderate value at $250/night. I'd definitely stay here again.
