Great, thanks all - some good ideas here. Looks like it is much better to try to get to SYD or BNE vs. AKL from the Aeroplan website, some good PE (to BNE) and J options. Either might be a good day or two to get the kids on to the right timezone before the jump across to NZ.

I like the two one-way idea - will need to weigh the cost of the AKL-OGG trip vs. the cost a pretty out of the way connection in Asia, but good to have choices.
