When I book a RT from IAD -LHR 6/24-7/6 and then use multi-city from LHR-ROM 6/25 and VCE-LHR on 7/5 I can get the price to about 4K. If you can get lower or similar without me having to pick up bags at LHR and reboard please let me know. Thanks again.

Presumably the OP has found ~$4k, given that they are from the US and used $ in their first post, and you are providing prices in £, which are about the same.
