Great review, really wish I could be in Mint on every flight and every route, such a fantastic service.
I've done both - you definitely get more privacy and space in the suites, but I enjoy sitting next to my husband/talking about the food, wine, and watching movies together. It's really a personal preference, I think. The experience is the same, though - great service, food, entertainment, and selections!
