LM Noumea is kind of like an resort in the middle of a city. It's not the most spectacular hotel in the world (though the suites are pretty great) - but definitely the best in the country...
I thought Deva was a great property - and if you're into golf, spa, and chilling - it's a great option. It's about 1:45 north of the airport - and there's nothing around there, but the beach is decent, the bungalows are great, the golf is great and the spa is great. But, if you want to stay in the city, then LM for sure.
I *really* like LM Ils des Pins and if I had to choose one or the other, i'd go to Ils des Pins just because it's so relaxing and the flight over is great - especially if you can sit in the jump seat.
