How to proceed with getting refuel charge back(Budget)
I am a victim to one of those refueling charges ugh.....Returned a car full on 1-4-18 at Budget at the Atlanta airport. They charged me an extra $70.50 for 10 gallons. The exit paper work I got has the car listed as being fuel so I sent them the document. This document was a fill in the blank type since I booked through Costco they checked me out like it's a corporate code. So anyway I send them the document and they say "Well anybody could've filled that out and we can give you a 50% refund on the charge." And I didn't save a receipt before I filled up which would've made this go away.... (Lesson learned)
I then ask well if you contact the ATL airport Budget and confirm this document can you reverse the charge? (The agents name was on the bottom so I suggested if this employee verifies their signature then they know I didn't forge it........) They go "yeah, but since they're licensed under Budget we can't contact them so you would have to do it...." So earlier today I left a message at the Atlanta Budget office to see if anybody can help me (MLK day though so tomorrow hopefully somebody calls back), but there are a few ways I could play this out.....
Should I
A: Photoshop a gas receipt. I would just go fill up my car with cash get a receipt and proceed to change out all the information that would match the day, time, address, price, etc.
B: Wait for ATL to call me back tomorrow and if they do no resolve it take the 50% percent refund and cut my losses
C: Issue a partial chargeback of $70.50 on my card and have Citibank take care of it for me.
