My read is that everyone will get a certificate, but the wording is not 100% clear:
"Upon closure of your Marriott Rewards Visa card account you will be awarded your anniversary Free Night Certificate to your Marriott Rewards Program account."
If "your" was "a" it would be crystal clear. I am going to contact them for clarification in the next few days. If I get one—Ill keep it open. If not? Ill close after some Marriott stays in February.
