Maybe there should be a poll on who here has lost more than half their personal equity due to a corporate bankruptcy filing and how that has affected their life and personal outlook particularly when they have to keep working for the company. It is completely out of your control, there is nothing you can do to plan for it. I've been nearly ruined by those sort of circumstances, it changes your life, so I empathize with their situation. Just because it is legal does not mean it does not impact peoples lives in a meaningful way. I think some of you working on the corporate side of things could benefit by lending an ear to the long term personal effects of corporate restructuring.
