I opted to pay for Preferred seats on a recent Rouge trip and has glad I did. For the extra room and earlier boarding it was worth the costs to me so that may be one option for you to consider.
If we don't purchase a seat - is the passenger able to actually select a seat during OLCI or is a seat automatically assigned (no ability to select or move)?
