And not much flexibility in their systems, either, which is a bad combination. In my situation above, the agents apparently didn't even have the ability to try to get my bag on the flight, and there's no way it takes 59 minutes to get bags from the counter at FLL to the plane on a slow Tuesday or Wednesday in August. (When I flew the next day, there were so few checked bags that they didn't even use a carousel. They wheeled out six suitcases on a cart.)
