I hope this is not the case. Setting the rules of this website aside, it would be a dishonest and unethical strategy by a large publicly-held corporation. I'm not saying you're wrong, and it's not like UA is a well-respected company anyway, but I hope it's above paying people to be dishonest on a travel forum to promote the airline.
But I think there's no question they're still reading and monitoring. If nothing else, half the time major problems are reported here before the right people at UA even get word of them. Plus, if we complain enough about something, it helps them to prioritize a fix to the bottom of their list.
