Yes, that's what happened on all my previous flights (using the same passport as I have now), which is why I thought it strange that they asked for a scan. When I got my most recent passport about 10 months ago, I do remember having to bring it to the airport to have it 'registered'??, but since then the check in website will bring up my most current expiration date and ask if I'm using the same passport, I always answer YES (which is what I did this time), but yesterday came the prompt to SCAN it, which is why I was wondering if this was new?
