For the OP, there is a good chance of getting to the medina for 12 midday and it's only half an hour away from the airport. I would think in terms of a lunch and a look round the square, and perhaps the souq at the back the square. If you want some tangine earthware to bring home as a present, drop back a street or two (but make a mental note of the shops, it's so so so easy to get lost) and perhaps haggle a bit, the shopkeepers like that.
