Looking at a future flight to LA.

Choices are the A380 direct to LAX or the 787-9 to SJC and then a domestic connection on AA.

I've flown the A380 before so would like to work my way through the cabins on the 787-9 (done F and CW and leaving the best until last, hopefully on the shortest flight possible!).

Is SJC (San Jose,CA) easy enough to get through (about 2h30 between flights)? Don't know the airport and I assume global entry works there due to international arrivals? LAX had me for secondary last time I was there so not sure if SJC will be a gentler experience.
