If VX F was selling so hot compared to a denser cabin with more seats, AS wouldn't be stripping it out. "I want to make less money" said no airline executive ever. (For whatever reason AS has decided what B6 is doing with Mint won't work for them.)
AS runs the risk of losing existing premium traffic out of SEA to B6 and DL as they expand Mint and One service. And living in the Bay Area, folks I talk to are NOT happy about losing the VX flying experience, and having to convert their VX points to AS. Some people are jumping ship to B6 or even UA. If they want to stop the decline in RASM every earnings call, it seems like they are going to have to do something to attract higher yield traffic.
